Designed and built atop the foundations of a previous restaurant, Coccola is a showcase of several contemporary dining ideas. It encompasses multiple dining rooms (both private and semi-private), a bar and lounge, and outdoor dining and reception areas. The central dining room features custom circular dining booths lit by glass globes with saucers that reflect light onto the cathedral ceiling and the exposed rusticated steel support trusses above. The sunken dining room is in full view of the open kitchen and is adjoined to a private dining room with 110 seats. At the other end of the central dining room is the island bar and lounge separated by edge-lit decorative glass screens. Exotic Wenge wood millwork with dramatic tiger grain is utilized throughout the restaurant.
The island bar features dazzling red quartzite stone with custom metalwork detailing. A suspended glass structure provides bottle and glass storage over the bar and is internally lit to provide ambient light as a decorative fixture and downlight over the bar top. A one-way mirror has been designed to permit a view from the ladies room to the bar area. The corner of the bar and lounge is fully exposed with a floor-to-ceiling glass wall giving passersby a glimpse into the restaurant interior.
