Rae brings together tradition and innovation in a truly unique environment. It’s an extraordinary pairing of one of the country’s best chefs, Daniel Stern, and Philadelphia’s new landmark
hi-rise tower, the Cira Centre, designed by famed Caesar Pelli. The DAS design for Rae achieves the chef’s desire for a truly open exhibition kitchen by placing a glass enclosed finishing kitchen at the heart of the restaurant, exposed on all sides, creating a buzz of activity and entertainment. Tall, luxurious booths line the two-story glass windows providing patrons with casual intimacy within the elegant tall space. A private chef’s dining room features a full wall of custom glass exposing the kitchen’s central island range. A modern feature staircase leads patrons up to the mezzanine level where a small dining room for 50 seats is provided. At the top of the stairs, the glass enclosed wine room perches over the two-story dining areas. The wine room sits atop a glass enclosed bakery where both combine as a lit glass tower.
A bullet shaped bar made of a quartz composite, lacquered panels and stainless steel is located at the lobby end of the restaurant where it pierces the lobby and joins the main restaurant with the lobby dining area. The lobby dining area is defined from the public lobby by a thick curving polished plaster wall, capable of being moved if required for special lobby receptions. A 200-seat Ballroom was created on an adjoining level accommodating a full variety of corporate and private party events. The Ballroom can be divided into three separate rooms
