A modern evolution of the Salt Creek Grille in Princeton, N.J., this Los Angeles project reflects the culture and climate of its location. While maintaining the warmth and vigor of the Princeton location, the restaurant features horizontal contemporary lines and an openness to the adjoining outdoor gardens and lounge areas. Blankets bearing the restaurant’s logo are provided to invite the diners to linger among the outdoor gardens and fire pits.
The 10,000 SF sweeping restaurant seats 300 in a large central dining room where all seating is in custom white oak booths with leather-like upholstery. Dark-tone polished concrete floors provide a natural richness in the bar and lounge where a large carved oak communal bar table is the centerpiece. The feature fireplace is also the movie wall where classic films are shown to further animate the atmosphere, and the cathedral ceilings expose the honey-tone wood timbers and the floating custom pendant lights. A long linear custom bar is designed with a translucent back bar which defines the bar from the dining room.
The restaurant is in the new Plaza El Segundo, California, a trendy retail center located a few blocks from one of the best beaches in LA.
