We’re all about creating experiences. And our latest handiwork, opening this fall adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, offers a memorable one.
Tucked along the Chesapeake Bay, in an area better known for boating and watersports, DAS created The Inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, a farmstead retreat celebrating the fertile coastal soil of the bay’s Kent Island in Maryland.
Whether you’re a local popping in for a visit to the Inn’s lobby marketplace lush with local produce, a diner for the evening at one of the two farm-(and bay)-to-table restaurants, or a guest in one of the cozy-chic rooms with charming details and breathtaking views, visitors to the new Inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club will be hard-pressed to forget the property’s captivating, rustic ambiance that revels in the fruits of the earth.
We created the space for our client as a destination in and of itself, where visitors can come to take a class, enjoy a concert, participate in family activities, or experience a quiet romantic getaway in an environment completely unique to the area.
The casual-chic décor we fashioned for the property, including the marketplace and the restaurants, utilizes exposed timbers, stone tile and rustic wood flooring. It’s finished in authentic regional materials with elegant accents, custom lighting and millwork, art and accessories to complete the farmstead experience.
The lodge offers 54 well-appointed rooms and suites that will surprise guests with unusual cottage elements like fireplaces, eves, and cubbies. The grounds also include an event barn, a banquet facility, a get-away spa, a toolshed bar, and patio garden venue to host various activities and offer different dining and entertainment options.
Visitors will find shuffle board, bocce ball, and other escapes to enjoy the landscape tucked in among the rambling gardens—herb gardens, indigenous gardens, learning gardens, and working gardens that supply the restaurant and grow hops for the local brewery.
Studying rural sites, vintage barns, and farm markets were some of the highlights of collaborating with our client to bring his vision to life. We hope the guests enjoy visiting as much as we enjoyed crafting the backdrop for their stay.
So escape the city, you urban dwellers. Dock your boats and find your land legs, ye seafarers. And discover the rustic charm and delicious draw of the land!
