DAS Interiors believes that good design is all about telling stories.

That’s what a good immersive experience really is—a well-told story. There is a set, with props and decorations, action and movement, lighting and color, textures and sounds. What makes it come alive are the characters that move through it. As professional Interior Designers, it’s our job to understand the characters and what their motivations are. To put it more plainly, we get to know our clients, so that we can understand their vision, which allows us to create an environment that fits their needs as well as their desires. It’s a collaborative effort, entirely consultative, where we have a meeting of the minds. Ultimately, it’s all about the experience.

OUR WORK

OUR PROCESS

1. Consulting

We begin with getting to know the client. Not just what they want, but who they are. Not just their vision, but also their hopes and dreams. We spend more time than most, determining how our clients plan to use the space. We look at the programming and the space requirements, schedules, budgets, and constraints. But we also focus on the dream. What is the wish list? Then we begin to work backward into what is possible.

2. Visioning/Brand Development

This is the exciting part for most people. This is where we really get to get creative. We research possibilities and options. Images and videos, shapes and color palettes. We’re looking for inspiration based on what we’ve learned about the client’s vision and the space at hand. But what we’re really doing is establishing a project vocabulary. Once we understand and agree on the story, we are able to put words into action and a picture starts to form.

3. Planning

It’s all fine and good to have big dreams and broad visions, but eventually you have to get down to what’s possible. This is where good planning comes in. This is where we begin looking at layouts, begin to determine flow, and conceptual designs. Begin to build schematics that allow us to refine our imagery, and narrow down what works and what doesn’t.

4. Design Development

5. Final Design

Finally, we get everything ready to go into the construction documents. This is where we get signoffs for every decision, from furniture to fixtures. Final budget and specifications for FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment), and procurement if necessary.
